In 1970, the Great Lakes Chapter offered its first series of ARFF schools. It was the first attempt by any organization to offer a specific training effort aimed at providing the airport firefighter an opportunity to attend a professional course designed to meet FAA requirements.
Each year the Chapter offers both basic and advanced firefighters schools.
